The official Kids' WB! website is advertising the new season of Static Shock, set to premiere on Saturday, January 25, 2003. No timeslot has been given yet, but should be announced this coming week.

The new season is expected to have a more serious tone than the previous two seasons. Below is a list of episode titles already revealed for the upcoming season:

"Hard As Nails"
"Role Models"
"The Usual Suspect"
"A League of their Own" Part 1 and 2
"Blast from the Past"
"L'il Romeo"

The creative team for Static Shock have generally kept quiet about surprises for the third season, but have revealed a few bits of information. As previously reported, "Gear" will introduce Richie's new superhero persona, "The Usual Suspect" will be a mystery-themed episode, and "Shebang" will be the first appearance of a new character who may have a recurring role later in the series. Given the costume change for Static, it is unlikely the two unaired episodes from season two will air any time soon.

The third season is going to kick off with an episode guest-starring Batman. Static will travel to Gotham City to battle Harley and Ivy. The Justice League will also appear this season in a two-part episode called "A League of their Own" featuring the return of Brainiac.

Kids' WB! has also started advertising the season premiere. The commercial, showing Richie in his "Gear" persona, as well as a wealth of new villains and Static's "shocking new attitude," began airing this morning and is expected to air until Friday, January 24, 2003.
