I'm at I-Con 27 This Weekend

I'm going to be a guest at I-Con 27, from April 4-6 on the campus of the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Attended by over 6,000 people each year, I-CON is a three day festival, designed to encourage literacy, creativity and interest in science and technology through science fiction and its related genres. Programming at I-CON spans a wide range of topics and interests, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, Japanese animation (otherwise known as Anime), science and technology, comic books, and medieval reenactment.

Guest speakers are invited from around the world to share their experiences in their fields, information about any new or upcoming projects and their insights into the genre with their fans. Over the course of the convention, guests typically will participate in panel discussions, give workshops and demonstrations, sign autographs, and interact with their fans on a one on one basis in such venues as the Awards Banquet. With so much to offer, I-CON is able to appeal to a diverse audience, including college students, senior citizens and families with young children.

I'll likely be doing a panel or two, more on that as the programming firms up. I'm really looking forward to this, as the guest list includes two personal heroes of mine, Ray Bradbury and Harlan Ellison. Other guests announnced so far are Peter David, Billy West, Rutger Hauer, Tracy Scroggins, Tim Russ and Justice League Unlimited's Jeffrey ("The Question") Combs.

A whole new Ben. A whole new force. Cartoon Network unveils the future of Ben 10 in a special NYCC screening of this brand new original series, followed by a special Q&A Panel with the show's creators. Join Ben as he must choose to once again put on the Omnitrix and combine forces with friends and foes from his past to battle an alien conspiracy that threatens the fate of our galaxy.

They're screening the special one hour pilot, Produced by Glen Murakami, directed by Butch Lukic and Dan Riba, and written by yours truly. Afterwards there's a Q&A with Cartoon Network bigwigs, myself and possibly a surprise guest or two. Hope to see some of you there.
